Dictators’ Hideouts (2024)
S1E1 Hitler’s Last Secret
Episode Overview
In a secluded area of Poland, numerous Nazi prisoners were compelled to excavate an extensive network of tunnels and chambers, known as Riese. This massive undertaking represented Nazi Germany's largest mining and construction effort, both in scale and ambition. Beginning in 1943 beneath Ksiaz Castle, we explore whether its intended use was simply as another of Hitler's command centers or if it was designed to accommodate secret laboratories for developing an atomic bomb. Could the Riese project have altered the trajectory of World War II?
